Pickler was born Kellie dawn Pickler on June 28, 1986. She had a turbulent childhood. As a young girl, her mother ran away to avoid an abusive situation. Pickler found her mother in her life by 1995. She took care of Pickler. This did not go well. Pickler went back to her parents when she was 12. Her grandparents brought her through to adulthood. Pickler was too busy raising her children in the absence of their parents. In the absence of both parents Pickler's schedule was so busy that she could not go to school. Instead she started learning how to take care of her family at an earlier time. Pickler participated in the cheerleading teams at both her middle and high school. North Stanly High School, which she attended from 2004 when she graduated, was her alma mater. Pickler is also a beauty contestant. She was crowned Miss Stanly Country.
